What Is Permanent Makeup?
Semi-permanent makeup, also known as micropigmentation, is a procedure that uses a pen-style tattoo machine and carefully crafted pigments (formulated specifically for cosmetic tattooing) to deposit color into the epidermis (the upper layer of the skin). The main purpose of permanent makeup is to provide an enhancement as subtle or as dramatic as you want.

How Long Does Permanent Makeup Last?
Although it is called "permanent makeup," the results are not forever. Color remains visible anywhere from one (1) to five (5) years, depending on the treatment and pigments used by the PMU artist. The skin constantly renews itself, so PMU results gradually fade over time.
Is Permanent Makeup a Safe Procedure?
At Makeup by Diana, procedures are performed under sterile conditions, using only disposable needle cartridges and the highest quality permanent makeup pigments from recognized brands. I use a sophisticated digitally controlled tattoo pen to insert those pigments. There are usually no long-term side effects; however, short-term side effects may include redness, swelling, and/or tenderness. Keep in mind that permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattoo, which means that I will make small incisions on your skin. As such, open wounds may be prone to infection if not treated properly. In order to avoid complications, it is vital to follow aftercare instructions.
